The weather was beautiful at the Rancho Simi Pool on Sunday for the Inaugural Matt Biondi Classic Masters Swim Meet hosted by Conejo Valley Multisport Masters.  Over 200 masters swimmers and hundreds of spectators were in attendance to honor 11-time Olympic Medalist Matt Biondi.  Matt swam in three Olympic Games 1982, 1988 and 1991.  Matt accumulated 11 Olympic medals, 8 of which were gold, and was the most decorated Olympian in any sport at the Olympic Games until his record was surpassed by Michael Phelps.  

The showcase event of the meet was the 50 freestyle where special Matt Biondi Awards were given to fastest female and fastest male swimmer in the meet. The fastest woman was Leah Tourtellotte from Conejo Valley Multisport Mastersin 25.81 (photo attached). The fastest man was Mario Marshall from Santa Clarita Masters in 21.17. Biondi turned in the nation's fastest time for his age group in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle and the 50 yard butterfly.
