United States Masters Swimming Crowns three CVMM Individuals and Two Relays with National Championship Titles!

Congrats to all our National Team Swimmers who competed this past Sunday at Salt Creek in Dana Point.  The CVMM team was the largest group at the event and they really made their presence know when the final results were announced. It was an overcast morning water temperature about 63 degrees and these swimmers raced no wet suits for just about an hour! We should all be very proud of their accomplishments. These are the very same CVMM open water coaches who have come out Saturday mornings to hand hold our newbie ocean swimmers during our Ocean Clinic’s!  Three new individual  National Champions  named from our team. Doug Koehler, Denise Hearst, and Becky Cleavenger all winning their age groups and being awarding National Championship patches and Open Water All American Status.   Denise Heart is also in the running for an Open Water Series Championship win for Southern Pacific Masters Swimming !

Two of our relay teams won National Championships:  Men’s Team age 35-39 of Dusty, Doug, Eric and Mark Wuttig are National Champions. Our Mixed Relay team of Dusty, Brooke, Karin and Mark also won in the 20-24 year old relays. These relays competed in the age group of the youngest swimmer on the team.

Doug Koehler had the 3rd fastest overall time of the day

Coach Brooke and Karin Langer did fantastic with a second place finishes in the 2.4 mile swims, Eric Marnoch was third , Dusty Nabor 4th, and strong swims by Mark Wuttig,  Ted Waldron, Mazen Hasson and Steve Bowerman! Coach Wade swam the 1.2 mile along with Addy Cleverly both were first in their age groups! Coach Wade was actually the first finisher overall in the 1.2 mile with a wet suit.
